November Audiobook Listening List (and thoughts)

Nov 30, 2016 12:41

This month was pretty low in the listening department. I was out of town for a while celebrating my partner's birthday. And I just couldn't find a story that intrigued me in the beginning of the month. The end of the month was a totally different story. I don't even know why I do polls b/c I read/listened to none of the books from this list

Here's the list:

My fav. this month is a toss between Broken Pieces and More Happy Than Not.

MHTN is not a happy ending. But it's a beautifully written piece about a boy falling in love with someone who is supposedly straight. And there's a bit of other drama all woven in. It has themes of suicide, homophobia, internal-homophobia. It's just a fantastic story that'll break your heart in the best of ways.

Broken Pieces - It's 11 hours that I finished in less than 3 days - had me ALL over it. I wrote a very drunk review of it on GOODREADS. (ha!). It has three parts and it's threesome story but it's not. It takes place over the course of 10 years and shows two men in love with the same guy and how they all complete each other. I think the author did good emotionally on the threesome part but sex wise it wasn't very successful. I think she tried too hard w/ the dirty talk. Maybe it's just me.

Asking for Trouble - is a HET story (oooooooooh!) and the only reason I picked it up was because the movie Wedding Date is based on this book and I'm writing a Merlin/Arthur story with the plot of Wedding Date for a FEST that's due in January. I'm like all over it. That one time I had to write an HD w/ Pride and Prejudice? Yeah I read all versions of it and watched all the P&P movies including Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - I'm such a Ravenclaw w/ my research, I can't even.

Anyway, that is all for now. Have a happy December!
