"What's this?" Severus walked into the sitting room and suspiciously eyed the vase of flowers on the coffee table.

He looked at Sirius who sat on one corner of the sofa, looking sheepish. Ah! It was that time of the year when Sirius did the predictable thing.

"An apology," Sirius said, uncomfortably.

"For what--"

"You know, what," Sirius snapped. Even while apologising, it was hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

"Indeed I do," Severus said and took a seat next to Sirius. Of course, it was nearly twenty years ago, and they had all been children, but Sirius was good at keeping his promise about trying to make it up to Severus. The Gryffindor that he was.

"I could let you tie me up again," Sirius said, grinning slightly before he bit his lower lip.

"Hmm." Severus's reaction came out in a grunt. "Now, you're talking sense, Black."
