Thanks! I saw your return post.

In my recent posts I reviewed my January books in a similar post. I did all of 2009 in one post but I didn't comment on the books themselves.

And do read I Capture the Castle; the movie is good too.

I'd love to see your list; I hope you post one. I still need to read Middlemarch which you and others have recommended.

Not much else is new with me.

sounds very interesting. Will have a look if I can get my hand on a copy. So perhaps it make me cry - of relieve or wonder?!
Hope you'll find someone who had read I caputre the castle. Love it myself to talk about books who get me. Was very easy when I lived with severeal reading bookmates and missed it since still. Sometimes I tried to read books with a friend but seldom we do it at the same time so it's different.
And here something for you to look at, which I really adored and perhaps you'll like it too: http://bookshop.livejournal.com/1010612.html

That link is soooooo cute! I love it! It made me laugh.

I often get family members to read the books I like, but like you, they usually read them at a different time than I do.

As for Regency Etiquette you can download it free in English here. Google books scans books that are no longer in copyright and makes them available as PDFs. The language of the book is a little thick, but that is part of its charm. Check out the beauty ointments in the last chapter of the book! *g*

ps. the book is from 1811 but the copy linked above is from 1830.

Thanks for the link, I already made a loan in my library for the reprint. But if I won't get it I try the online version. (And now I go to have a look at the end ;-)

I read I Capture the Castle a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it as well. I read somewhere there's a movie adaptation with Romola Garai (don't know if you've seen it already?) and I'm dying to see it :)
And Regency Etiquette sounds quite interesting! If I'm lucky enough to get my hands on a copy I'll definitely give it a try.

Yes, the movie is excellent! I felt they really, well ... captured it. It's a little hard to find. I bought a second-hand copy online.

Google Books has Regency Etiquette: The mirror of the graces as a free pdf here. The last chapter has beauty treatments are just ... ouch! You can learn more about the book here.

Thanks for the Regency Etiquette link :) And I've already seen my local library has the I Capture the Castle DVD so that won't be a problem!
