Well my sister bought the Vienna "Mozart!" CD. Ha ha! I'm turning her into a fan. When I told her that Pia and Uwe are doing "Elisabeth" again she said, "Oh! I must get to Berlin ( Read more... )

Frankly I find it odd that Pia and Uwe keep doing "Elisabeth" -- yes I love them in the roles but I get an image in my head of them both at 60 still doing the show.Yeah, that's why I'm getting tired of them doing it all the time. Sure, they're good, but other people would also be good and they can't be doing those roles forever... And frankly, Uwe shouldn't be performing at all in my opinion. Not because I don't like him, but because his voice is about to die a permanent death. He needs to take a proper long break, otherwise he soon won't be able to sing a note. He was frankly horrid in the musical concert in Vienna before Christmas. I have no idea why they had him sing the Phantom songs when Thomas Borchert was also around, he scarcely hit a right note and his voice broke really badly in MotN. He did okay in Der Letzte Tanz, though - perhaps he's doing Death again since it's the only role he can still sing without sounding horrible ( ... )

That's good advice for us all -- We need to take care of ourselves or we'll lose what we've got. We can't keep going at full spead all the time.

With Uwe it's also that while he has an interesting voice, he doesn't have a very good technique. Then he anyway tries to sound loud and impressive like the people who actually have a good technique, and ends up ruining his voice. I really fear he soon won't be able to sing at all if he doesn't take a break. He should have used the break in Rebecca for resting his voice.
