Like most on Pern, Fabian's dreamed of Impressing a dragon and joining his brother in Pern's fighting ranks. He's dreamed of fighting Thread and saving Pern from its greatest menace.

It turns out there's a lot more to being a dragonrider than fighting Thread.

I don't think I like Bill too awfully much in this, and I hope that J'an will make Fr'ank [i]very[/i] happy. It sounds like he needs it. Fr'ank, I mean.

F'abi doesn't know that he's an annoying little shit, does he? I do love him, though.

*hums* No comment on Bill. J'an makes everyone very happy. Except F'abi, since J'an's not interested. Poor F'abi.

No, no, he doesn't. Outside of the story, the idea of Fabi Halbig trying to be Frank's matchmaker amuses me too much for words. Halbigs seem to be failures at romance. I'm not even positive they've ever talked to each other, though I definitely have a tabloid picture somewhere of Jo and Frank with drinks and their arms around each other.
