I don't even know...

So I was in Walmart the other day and I found myself thinking, wow, Walmart has a lot of variety. Like, a whole lot. I was in the international food section, which is really split between an Asian section, which is further split into soy sauce, Pocky, and just-add-water crap, and a Latino section, which is what made me pause and go, there's some ( Read more... )

There's something horribly offensive in having people who have never met your parents tell you that the way they raised you is fucked up.

I think there's no such thing as fucked up. Sure, some things are worse than others, but nothing can be called generally right or generally wrong, because different methods work on different kids. Some need their parents to push them and have very strict rules, others may be too vulnerable or too individually strong for it to work. If someone has raised their kids wrong or bad, it's because the parents' methods weren't working for the kid, not that the methods were wrong in themselves.

To base the way you were raised on that drawing and your mothers reaction is too weak. What do they know? It was one single episode.

“That, my friend, is a placenta.”

ØØØ

eeeew *flails, flails and flails again* oh God. And the "ØØØ" has never fitted better! But as to the actual preview, this sounds awesome. I'm really looking forward to it, and Juri's point of view, finally! Been waiting for this.

Oh, no, um, see- my mom really is a crazy bitch. Like, bipolar crazy. And just a bitch in general. She's a genius of a lawyer, too, and that just makes her even more of a bitch because she can quote legalese like no one's business.

The thing is, my parents did do a shitty job of raising their first three kids. All of us are screwed up, too, like that's a surprise. K and I have bounced atrocities off each other for years and we both agree our mother isn't a good parent. I was really surprised I got offended at my coworkers being so shocked at that. That's just how my mom is: she's cynical and will not give credit where it's not due. If something is not good quality, she won't lie to you about it ( ... )

Snap. I really failed there, didn't I? But for what it's worth, I don't think you're a fuckup. I mean, I don't know you in person, but the impression I get is not negative in any way. It's a good thing that you and K are on the same page though, that must count for something?

Nice in a... uh, fascinating way? God, it sounds horrible, but I guess ME!Jan will be thrilled. And of course the drama is tangled! Awesome, downright awesome.

It was actually Adele who pointed the ØØØ thing out, and I hadn't noticed before she mentioned it. Now we're both laughing out loud every time we see one that fits particularly well. She's going to die when she sees that one!
