Animorphs is going back into print!? *flails all over* When my brother joined the Navy he left me his Animorphs collection. Everything but the Ellimist Chronicles. Grr...
Honestly though, I've never met anyone else who's read the books (even some of them) that I'm not related to. :D
Yes, it most certainly is! One of my best friends when I was a kid, Deidre, read them as well as The Dragonriders of Pern. I was a kid when the books were still coming out new and actually joined a book club that sent me this sweet newsletter once a month with new books. I probably cost my parents a couple hundred dollars for all the extra copies they sent me that my mom had already bought.
Ooh, and an animated series. Maybe I'll try and get involved with that. *ponders and schemes* The live action show was awful. Of course, I shouldn't expect much more from Nickelodeon.
Aw, they don't believe in book clubs in Idaho. The best we had was book orders that never had anything terribly interesting in them but we ordered from them anyway.
If this new wave takes off those extra copies will be collectors items.
Oh, God, was the animated series bad. The only good thing were the actual actors, one of whom went on to be Iceman in X-men.
The old ones or the new ones? I desperately want copies of The Ellimist Chronicles and the books I missed. I don't think The Hork-Bajir Chronicles can be improved since the art was so amazing but the Megamorphs should be a treat. New covers that would bring Animorphs into the 2000's would be both interesting and saddening. I'm not sure the books will translate well to a new generation since they relied so much on the 90's time frame. I think that's why I love them so much. ;>
I could so get into a revival. I loved Tobias/Rachel and I heard there was intense Marco/Ax in some of the later books with the New Animorphs. But that last book- it tore me up so much it still hurts my fangirl heart. I adored Rachel and her death was a travesty. I'm not sure I can fully accept the ending as the true end.
