Thunder and Lightning

Quorra gazed out the window at the rain and occasional flashes of lightning as the sky groaned with thunder. It filled her with excitement and a feeling of being utterly, completely alive. It also reminded her of the Grid. The lightning storms there had been magnificent to behold. She glanced back at Alan, who was leaned back in the couch reading a ( Read more... )

Alan frowned as he looked up from his book--usually Quorra found all kinds of means of entertaining herself inside, and it was a rainy day so they couldn't go anywhere. Especially with with the intensity of the storm.

"You should take a jacket, you'll catch a cold." The logical part of him told him that wasn't the case, no one actually caught colds in the rain.. at least not from the water. But he said it anyway, he used to tell it to Sam out of force of habit. "Don't spend too long, Quorra, it's pretty bad out there." She'd be fine. Why did you even have to mention that, Alan? Now she wants to take the Ducati out. She considered it for a moment before shaking her head. Then Alan couldn't really keep an eye on her, and Lord knew she needed a babysitter. She tended to get carried away.

Quorra shot him a bright smile. "Sure thing."

She stepped out into the rain, inhaling in the crisp clean air and grinning. It felt great out here, the cool liquid splashing down on her skin. It wasn't long before she was jumping in puddles and giggling, her short wet hair plastered to her face as the rain came down even harder. Thunder rumbled in the distance and she sighed happily.
