Digimon Commercial Re-Dump: 10th Anniversary Celebrations

Aug 01, 2009 00:16

Hello all, you may remember this from December when I stuck these up. I had hoped to have found some new ones, but I've been too busy to go through my tapes, so these will be pretty much the same ones as before.

In celebration of Digimon's 10 Anniversary ocuring today, I'm re-linking all these video in a single dump with the videos grouped into sections. Whether you're an old school fan celebrating 10 years of the show, or are relatively new to the series after seeing Digimon Savers, these are all classic videos that you should be able to enjoy and look back on.

There are Commercials, Digithons, Interviews, Sweepstakes, Extra and other video clips available to watch.

Comments are most welcome. Do drop in and leave one if you watch the videos. Stay and discuss your favorites, your banes, the nostalgia.

Feel free to let other digimon communities know about this livejournal post if you think their members might enjoy seeing these videos. There's so many small and specialized communities, I'm not going to cross post to all of them.

The Digibowl
Digibowl Promo
It's Digimon VS Digimon. Saturday January 27, the first season's digimon take on the second season to see who are the ultimate champions of the digital grid iron, featuring your host: Terry Bradshaw.

The Digibowl Is Back
The digibowl returns on FoxKids

Digibowl Part 1
Welcome to the digibowl on FoxKids, with your host: Terry Bradshaw. What is a digibowl? The digibowl is a game of digital football where the first season's digimon battle the second season's digimon. It's the Crimson Quake VS the Yellow Mash. Each team scores 1 point for each completed attack call hit. They can also score 6 points for saving the world, but can loose 4 wimp out points for things like crying. Obviously the team with the most points at the end wins.

Digibowl Part 2
The Crimson Quake build an amazing 20 points in "And So It Begins". Terry Bradshaw names Agumon as the MVD (Most Valuable Digimon) who scored an amazing 3 hits after digivolving.

Digibowl Part 3
The Yellow Mash are off to a slow start in "Enter Flamedramon". The first quarter of the digibowl is over with a score of 20-4. Veemon earns the MVD award this time around as he was the only mon on the field doing anything.

Digibowl Part 4
The Crimson Quake are doing great. After defeating MegaMyotismon with an amazing 11 hits and saving the world, it's now 37-4. This episode's MVD is Gabumon.

Digibowl Part 5
Welcome to the Half Time Show. The Yellow Mash get it into gear scoring 9 points bringing the score to 37-13. Now let's watch the Young Wolves half time show preformance. Patamon and Gatomon garner the MVDs this time around.

Digibowl Part 6
The Crimson Quake are falling appart. Total and complete infighting resulted in them scoring 0 points. The score remains 37-13. No MVD was selected this time around.

Digibowl Part 7
In a devastating upturn, the Yellow Mash post another 9 points with thanks to Shurimon. The score is now 37-22. Hawkmon is declared the MVD scoring 3 hits this episode.

Digibowl Part 8
The Crimson Quake score an amazing 9 points, but they lost 4 points for crying. This puts them up an amazing 20 point on the Yellow Mash at 42-22. Did anyone else know that this was going to end in a tie the moment Terry Bradshaw started asking what would happen in a tie? I know I did, and it was even more irksome that "Saving Both Worlds" from Apocalymon's doomsday explosion didn't count as "saving the world" worth 6 points.

Digibowl Part 9
No surprises here. It's a tie. The Yellow Mash managed to pull in 20 hits in the episode. Guess we got our chance to decide the winner by voting on the web site though.

Digibowl Vote Promo
Two teams met on the digital grid iron. There were cheers, and there were tears. Both teams played hard, both teams deserved to win. But alas, the digibowl ended in a tie. Now it's up to you to decide the winner.

Digibowl Winners
They were all courageous, they all fought hard, and they battle to a tie. And the winners of the digibowl are... The Crimson Quake (Season 1). I felt totally vindicated watching this, with that totally one sided 4th quarter scoring, they still managed to pull off the popular vote. This concludes the Digibowl Series of videos.

Digibowl 2002
Digibowl 2002 Promo #1
It's second season vs third season. It's digimon vs digimon. It's digibowl 2002. Terry Bradshaw hosts an entire morning of digimon. Digibowl 2002, Saturday Feb 2, all morning long. Only on FoxKids.

Digibowl 2002 Promo #2
You're watching digibowl 2002. It's a game of digital football between the second season of digimon and the third season. The teams score points for completed direct hits. Goto Foxkids.com to see how you can be a part of the action. And keep watching digibowl 2002.

Digibowl 2002 Part 1
Welcome to digibowl 2002 on Foxkids, with your host Terry Bradshaw. Reporting from the sidelines this year we have Digidestined Kari and Digimon Tamer Henry. What is digibowl 2002? Digibowl 2002 pits the second season of digimon against the third season in a game of digital football. The second season return as the Yellow Mash and the third season are called the Red Mauraders. What are the rules? Each team will score 1 point for a direct hit, the misses don't count. A team can also score 6 points for saving the world, or loose 4 wimp out points for fighting or crying. The Yellow Mash are now taking the field for the first episode of the first quarter.

Digibowl 2002 Part 2
The Yellow Mash are completely falling apart. They lost 4 points for infighting wiping out almost all the gains in the episode. The score is 1-0. Veemon is the MVD for this episode.

Digibowl 2002 Part 3
This game's off to a low scoring start. Scoring only 2 points, the Red Mauraders bring this game to 1-2 after the first quarter. Guilmon gets the episode's MVD

Digibowl 2002 Part 4
It's a digibowl first (hah, there was only one before this one, so not like you have a lot of precedence here) A play is being reviewed. Because of the nature of this episode, the 4 point infighting penalty is being waived, and uncalled attacks are being counted. The score has widened to 9-2. Veemon gets the MVD (again) for this episode.

Digibowl 2002 Part 5
Welcome to the Galidor halftime show. In yet another round of low scoring (like seriously, at this point in time, the original digibowl was in the 20-30 point range), the gap has closed to 9-6 with the Red Maurauders scoring an additional 4 points. Terriermon scores the MVD this time around.

Digibowl 2002 Part 6
It's an amazing score. Gainning 11 points this quarter bringing the score to 20-6. Cody scores the MVD this time around (since when's he a digimon anyway?)

Digibowl 2002 Part 7
In a blazing battle, there's an amazing 8 hits this quarter, including an amzing stick hit by Rika. The score is now 20-14. Renamon pulls off the MVD this episode.

Digibowl 2002 Part 8
What's this? An eating episode? Once again, the Yellow Mash show poor preformance with only a single point in the episode. The score comes to 21-14, can the Red Mauraders pull off a win in the final episode of the digibowl? Armadillomon and Patamon score a joint MDV with their DNA Digivolution.

Digibowl 2002 Part 9
The Red Maurauders Win Digibowl 2002. They scored 4 hits, and gainned an additional 6 points for saving the world. The final score is 21-24. Now get to FoxKids.com and vote for your MVD of Digibowl 2002. Results will be announced during the premier of Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension next Saturday. Sorry guys, I couldn't find the commercial where they announced your MVD, but I seem to recall that Terriermon won in the end. This concludes the Digibowl 2002 series of videos.

Anime Commercials and Messages

FoxKids Digimon Fall Lineup Promo
Here's something that most people probably don't even remember. This aired mid September 1999 at a time when Digimon had already aired about 4 episodes. Aside from the original digimon promo which wasn't particularily catching, this is the first advertising the series got, and it resulted with FoxKids restaring the broadcast from Episode 1 again.

Beat The Heat
Beat The Heat With the DigiBeat. This one's an oldie from the Summer of 2000 as digimon entered repeats before a new season. It was such a catchy commercial that many people came to detest seeing it. This is the full 30 second promo spot.

Digimon Commercial: Battle Attire
DigiDestined: Battle Attire. Need I say more? This commercial got played boatloads as one of 02s early videos advertising digimon episodes.

Digimon Commercial: DigiBloop That
Everyone surely remembers FoxKids DigiBloop That, a non-digithon event held on April 1, 2000 featuring well, digibloop that. I was considering putting up the actual blooper reels, but the station I got never broadcasted them in full screen, and since you can get "fullscreen" versions all over youtube, look them up yourself (athough who could possibly forget the "Behold my power" blooper?)

Digimon Commercial: Intense
Digimon: It's Extremely Intense. You probably remember the whole lineup of commercials they made for digimon in 2002 for the summer repeats. This is just one of many that were produced.

Digimon Commercial: Digital Emperor's Revenge
This is Ken, the Digital Emperor. This is Ken's angry face, this is his very angry face, and this is his "I can't believe those silly digidestines foiled my plans again" face. This is Ken enjoying some tea, which quickly leads to his "I have an evil plan face" and his "I have an evil plan" laugh. Watch the Digital Emperor's Revenge, it's 3 new episodes of digimon, this Saturday on FoxKids. Sorry, I didn't have this one in fullscreen.

Digimon Commercial: Behind Every Villain
Behind Every Villain, There's a Soul... This commercial is from the events surrounding the Dark Spore Saga although it was airring as a summer repeat commercial.

Digimon Commercial: Peanutbutter
It's peanutbutter time. Honestly I don't remember this commercial, but it was on the tape, so it had to have happenned at some point.

Digimon Commercial: Different
You'd only have seen this one if you were canadian and got YTV. YTV never got any of those cool commercials that featured the actual dub voice actors, but they produced a few outstanding commercials themselves.

Digimon Lesson #28
So what the heck are the other 27 lessons? FoxKids brings you Digimon Lesson #28: Brush up on basic abilities

Digimon Commercial: Excuse Me
Everyone must remember that Season 2 belching commercial they made as part of their marathon of commercials for summer repeats.

Digimon Commercial: It's Yummy
Supper VS Dinner. Who will be the victor! Digimon, all summer on FoxKids. Mmm, it's yummy.

Digimon Commercial: It's Connected
Hey, it's like having a party line. Watch Digimon all summer long. It's Connected.

Digimon Commercial: Totally Random
What happens when you take a ton of random scenes and throw them into a commercial spot for digimon? You get this.

Digimon Commercial: Digimon 02 Soup's On
On an all new digimon, there is only one destiny stone left. Blackwargremon aims to destroy it, and the digidestined must stop him, but first, they've got to eat.

Digimon Commercial: Digimon 02 Episodes #1
When one of their greatest warriors falls, and the rest of the digimon are rendered helpless by a powerful new enemy, who will the digidestined turn to? Do not miss these two all new exciting episodes of digimon.

Digimon Commercial: Digimon 02 Episodes #2
Next Saturday it's 3 new episodes of digimon, when a new horror comes to the digital world. And the digidestined are powerless against it's dark force. They must turn to their greatest enemy for help. Witness the next step of digievolution and the birth of a brand new digimon.

Digimon Commercial: Digimon 02 Episodes #3
Before the real world had control spires, before we learned of new digidestined, and before Yolei met a handsome young Gennai, every control spire was destroyed in the digiworld, uhh, well, we think. So before you take Saturday's tour, make sure the digiworld is pure.

Digimon Commercial: Digimon 02 Episodes #4
Something wicked has appeared on earth. And the terror once found in the digiworld, has come to the real world. Now our team must journey across the far regions of the planet, and join a worldwide alliance of new digidestined in a frantic search to cast out evil. Don't miss the beginning of the digimon world tour.

Digimon Commercial: Digimon 02 Episodes #5
They all wanna be like Ken. He's a sports superstar, a genius, and he was evil. As the battle for both worlds continues, find out why one hero doesn't want to lead by example.

Digimon Commercial: Digimon 02 Episodes #6
Children are missing throughout the city. The battle returns to where it all began and the next chapter of the all new digimon legend continues as the battle for both worlds burns on. So I guess that makes this the first commercial advertising the "series" after the digimon world tour calling it the "Battle for Both Worlds"

Digimon Commercial: Digimon 02 Episodes #7
As the battle rages on, relive the birth, of the hero who stands between both worlds.

Digimon Commercial: Digimon 02 Episodes #8
Secrets are revealed, destinies are realized, and evil is in full bloom. With one chapter left before the digimon season finale, the enemies are at the gate, as the battle for both worlds rages on.

Digimon Commercial: Blue Card
One of the original 3 commercials for Digimon Season 3 aka Tamers (The others being "High Level Wild Type" and the third one was "Game Over: Reset Reality") They certainly did a good job showing just how different from the previous seasons this one was going to be will a full all out advertising blitz and digithon (see above videos) to kick it off.

Digimon Commercial: Girl Power
Yet another one of Tamers' stupendous number of commercials. This one features Rika and Renamon.

Digimon Commercial: Your Heart Is Your Digivice
Another "generic" digimon commercial that came into play quite late into the series.

Digimon Commercial: Humidity
We're certainly having a run on digimon commercials here. This one's one of Tamers' summer commercials that poped into effect either right before the series ended, or at some point after.

Digimon Commercial: Redefine Some Terms
Although I don't believe this one was ever used before Tamers began airring, it definatly appeared after. Just one part of the massive campaign to "Reset Reality"

Digimon Commercial: Reset Reality
Everything you know about digimon is about to change... Game Over: Reset Reality. This is the second of three commercials foxkids used before the launch of Digimon Tamers to promote just how different season 3 was going to be compared to the previous two.

Digimon Commercial: High Level Wild Type
High Level Wild Type, Bio-emergence now imminent. Primary tracer activating. What if the game became real? What if you found out it's secret? What if you were the only one who could see it? This fall, Game Over, Reset Reality. Digimon Season 3, can you see it? This is the last of the 3 FoxKids Season 3 promos that were airring leading up to the Get Real Digithon in which Tamers premiered in north america for the first time. This one is probably the one most people remember the most out of the 3.

Digimon Commercial: Saga of the Devas
Are you ready to experiance the Devas? In this full one minute long commercial, FoxKids advertises the kick off to the "Saga of the Devas" a tripple header of digimon featuring powerful digimon from the chinese zodiac.

Digimon Commercial: Saga of the Devas #2
After coming off a weekend that just featured 3 brand new episode and kicked off the "Saga of the Devas" the series contines with another 2 new episodes. The Devas make a play for Renamon. Digimon Commercial: Throughout The Month Of November
Throughout the month of November, catch Digimon Season 3 every weekday afternoon

Digimon Commercial: Pure and Untamed
It's Rika Nonaka! Looks like a wild one, Pure and Untamed. Just another one of FoxKids many Digimon Season 3 commercial spots that aired throughout the series.

Digimon Commercial: Tamers Episodes #1
The "Saga of the Devas" is over. Coming up, Calumon is lost in the digital world, Impmon has found an EVIL Deva, and will Guilmon loose his mind when a phantom motorcycle appears? Also, Mon Colle Knights cooking episode.

The third Digivolve Your Difference Hope Against Hate commercials (sorry, #2 I couldn't find, but it featured Davis and a lot of footage from the last episode of Digimon 02)

Digimon Frontier Spoof OP
Digimon Frontier Spoof ED
Anyone who was watching Frontier as it came out might remember this pair of videos. Since I was the one who was downloading, re-encoding and the uploading the resized real media files to digifandub for distrobution on the previous incarnation of "With The Will" I decided to mess with the OP and ED of episode 37 I think. In any case, this managed to fool an inordinate number of people into believing that they'd changed the OP. This was even with a subtitle that said "Spoof Into by Jpwong" at the very start of the video.

Wonderboy AMV
Years ago in 2001, FET's Digimon Fan Dub posted a Digimon Tamers AMV in real media format. At the time it was really good. Some of you may be aware that 5 years later I went and remastered that video in higher quality using the original as a base. Now you can watch them side by side to compare them.

Digimon The Movie 4: Spoof
This is a clip of some of the combat scenes in movie 4. I spoofed the voice track with sounds from one of the games I'd been playing at the time, since at the time, Digifandub was working on Digimon The Movie 4. It definatly creates a WTF moment while watching it. What if Omegamon and Imperialdramon talked?

Teenage Wolves In Concert
It's the Teenage Wolves in Concert singing their feature hit "I Turn Around". This is something I made after episode 38 of Digimon 02 aired on foxkids (well, the audio file). Hear the whole song without all those annoying breaks that were in the actual episodes. This is editted together from multiple episodes, the song is not officially released in english on any sound tracks.

The Biggest Dreamer Live
See Wada Koji sing "The Biggest Dreamer" Live at the premier of Digimon The Movie 5: Tamers Adventure Battle

Digimon Frontier Live
See some of the cast of Digimon Frontier at the premier of Digimon The Movie 7

Digimon Tamers Live
See some of the cast of Digimon Tamers at the premier of Digimon The Movie 5

FoxKids Heaping Helping of Heroes
It's a Heaping Helping of Heroes with a double header of Digimon featuring a brand new episode

FoxKids It's Time To Be A Hero
You might remeber the "It's Time To Be A Hero" commercial. They made and aired this one the Saturday immediately following 9/11 during the digimon episode.

FoxKids It's Time To Be A Hero Ver 2
This version of "It's Time To Be A Hero" was aired during the "Heaping Helping of Heroes" broadcast and features slightly different dialogue.

Digimon Episode 54
It'd part of digimon episde 54 in French.

Dub Ending Themes

Digimon Theme: Season 1 ED
Lets end today with an ending :D Rather, here's the second version of season 1's dub credits. Version 1 was largely the same with more "extended" scenes rather than the ultimates.

Digimon Theme: Season 2 ED
So here's the Ending for Digimon Season 2, not really anything special though.

Digimon Theme: Season 3 ED
If you only ever got FoxKids, you'd know they never actually showed the credit roll properly. They always shoved their own promos into the space. Not all of us got only FoxKids. Some stations airred the ending complete and intact. So here's what Digimon 03's Ending Theme would have been if FoxKids had done that.

Interviews

Digimon: FoxKids Interview
It's TV Guide Television's interview with Roland Poindexter, the Head of FoxKids Programming. It explains a few things about the TV show, what FoxKids' hopes for it are, and what they think about it.

Digimon: Terri-Lei O'Malley Interview Part 1
YTV interview's Terri-Lei O'Malley, the Producer of Digimon. She unveils the name of a new digimon Datirimon and then goes on to reveal some information about the upcomming Digimon Season 3 that will be premiering in the fall. She explains some of the processes that they go through to dub the episodes. They reference a "she" translator in Los Angeles a few times, this is almost certainly making reference to the person we all know as Megchan who we know was a Digimon Translator based out of Santa Monica (ie LA), and had the Digimon web forums that predated WtW (as WtW was formed after, and basically replaced Megchan's boards when it all went to shit).

Digimon: Terri-Lei O'Malley Interview Part 2
Part 2 of the same interview. Remember when I said Canada got some arguably better contests than the US did? This is what I meant. YTV.com partnered with Digimon to select the name for a new digimon that would appear in the final episode of Digimon Season 2. Submissions were accepted from all over Canada (except Quebec probably), and Anthony from Guelph Ontario's submission "Datirimon" was selected as the winner. Seriously, imagine the bragging right that go along with being able to say that you named a digimon that appeared in the show? Also, Terri-Lei reveals some revelations about how they named a certain other digimon. Gatomon's Rookie form Salamon is actually named after her Cat. Gatomon is also Terri-Lei's favorite character.
She did an online chat interview, if you want to read the transcript to that chat, I have it Here

Digimon: Toei Animation Studios Tour
YTV took a tour of Toei Animation studios. It's killing me that I missed the full version of this tour, but it's not like they advertised when they were going to show this sort of thing. You get to see a few bits from all over the place, including the character sketchbook, the official Tamers location backdrops, cell painting, animating, and a revelation. How many people here knew that the Japanese Producer for Digimon 02 was actually made into a character that appeared in 02? Props if you can figure out what episode they're animating when they show the ladies doing the cell painting (hint, it's near the middle of the series).

Not Really Digimon

FoxKids General Commercial #1
Just a general foxkids commercial promoting all their shows.

FoxKids Weekday Summer Program
