Crow sure is tasty

Doing the laundry gave her time to think. Her bath? Even more so. She should have kept her mouth shut. What right did she have to speculate who he was sleeping with? It was none of her business. He probably had every right to get pissed. He didn't lead her on. He didn't tell her no but not once did he flirt back or even encourage her. Even if there ( Read more... )

Shane had sure not forgotten the incident, but he had been fairly good at distracting himself not only with his chores, but also taking extra ones. Keeping himself busy had always worked for him and now it had proven to do its trick once more as he relaxed teaching the kids, with a bit of Glenn's help, how to build a camping shower with some garbage bags. It sure wouldn't be any competition to Dale's RV and its accommodations, but the kids and even himself were having a nice time ( ... )

She could hear the fatigue in his voice and she almost changed her mind. Jessi didn't want to make people dread being around her. She didn't want to make the guy tired guy by asking to talk to him. She'd really fucked.

"I just wanted to say that you were right. You were nice to me and took care of me and I know I didn't make it easy toward the end. I have no right, none, to speculate about your personal life. I, uh, put everything back in your tent. I really appreciate what you did for me and I'm sorry it took so long for me to show that gratitude."

There was so much more she wanted to say but since talking to her was painful now she figured she'd keep it short.

Her little submissive act was something Shane had expected, but it was something still strange to watch. She was usually demanding, spunky and the kind of girl who's not afraid to kick you in the balls. This formal apologize seemed more like the kind of thing he could imagine an older version of herself would give.

Or perhaps, someone who actually acted her age, in his eyes.

"Don't worry, it's forgotten already." He says with a sigh, rubbing the back of his neck. His look, on the other hand, clearly sends mixed signals. "Have you arranged where you're stayin' in?"

She hitched her backpack higher on her shoulder looking a little awkward. She knew what he was going to say before she even started but even if he accused her of being a kid again, it was probably for the best.

"Actually, I was thinking I'd just move on. Not before doing a supply run of course. I said I would and you all were nice enough to share what you have with me. It's the least I could do. I really am sorry for the trouble I've caused you, Shane."
