FlyeringTommy met us at the restaurant and happily chatted away. I hadn't seen him for 3 weeks and i was so pleased to catch up again. He was busy, of course. The show was due in an hour and he had loads to do. He quickly dumped a couple of flyers on me and Omer and told us where to stand to give them out. We were schooled to say 'One Woman show! man, what bimbos. I would never flyer. When I went to the comedy club in dublin the people promoting it just carried a placard and yelled outside. I thought that worked fine.

but there are 10000 venues and events going on at the fringe. and the venues are scattered around the city. it's pretty hard to attract people at 3:20pm into a show. Better to target people who are buying tickets or interested in buying tickets (at the central ticket stand), and then give them a flyer.

If i was a punter, i would collect flyers and choose from the selection i had. It's too hard to choose otherwise.
