i asked the internet about the electric grandmother, as promised. i remember no such film (having been made in 1982, this would have been prime viewing for a young and impressionable amanda) but see that it was based on ray bradbury's i sing the body electric. who knew. (ed did)

Yes and her fingers had chocolate milk in them I think. I totally remember it. I think it was a Disney made for TV film.

YES! She had Grandmotherly beverage service from her hands!
And it was a surreal thing to see as a young nerdling.
