Just had a yummy breakfast, go try it! (Although it might be a bit too hot around where you are for porridge. *shrugs*)

Ingredients:
  • porridge (you don't need instructions for that, do you? It's just oats, milk, water and a microwave/stovetop)
  • half a large ripe banana or one whole small one, cut up in pieces or mashed (I used the back of my spoon)

I love oats and porridge of any kind! Mmmmmm. There's something about home made hot cereal. I too am a fan of a dash of jam. Okay, now I want some. It's five in the evening here, however, so that would be kind of weird.

Pffffttt... no time is the wrong time for any type of food. :) But I guess there's no point spoiling your dinner, is there?

Actually, I think I do need a recipe for porridge. I always hear reference to it, but have no clue what it actually is, other than some sort of cooked grain. Though from your description it sounds like oatmeal. Except oatmeal doesn't have to have milk, though many people do add it.

But it sounds pretty good. I like bananas.

Oh! Yes, it is oatmeal... I think. It's rolled oats in the microwave with water and I like milk in mine because it makes it tasty. The ratio is 2:1 liquid to rolled oats, I think, although it depends on how thick you like yours. And... how long you cook it for depends on the type of oats you use and how cooked you like it. Around 2 to 10 mins in the microwave?

Bananas are the yum. We were banana-less for a year or something when the cyclone hit and that was horrible. :(

Mystery solved! I just never knew.

I usually make mine on the stove, and when I do it's 2:1 like you said. There's also the instant kind, which has lots of flavor varieties and is made in the microwave. I eat that basically every day for lunch. : ) I like to add raisins.

Huzzah!

Yeah, I like raisins in mine too, normally. But I was experimenting this morning. Hmm... I've never tried it for lunch. I don't suppose you could make it savoury and put meat and veggies in it? I'm lazy about pots and pans. And stingy with buying fancy kinds of instant stuff. So that explains my method of cooking. ;)

You always make me hungry, dear. And I just had dinner too hahaha.

Weird how all these fires are popping up everywhere. Some guy left his blowtorch on at Universal Studios and burned down half of the buildings they were uh...building.

Heee! Yeees... I suppose that's because I love food. Not that that's good for me but hey. I makes me happy some of the time. ;)

...smart. Who leaves their blowtorch on?!

How've you been? How was the first day of finals?

Well not too shabby, not too shabby. I think I did well on both my tests. Math is my last final on Tuesday, and if I get an 82.5% I can get a B in the class, but honestly I just don't care enough. Gah I hope I'm not this apathetic in college.

I dunno... I'm pretty much like that. I think it depends on how your semester's been. Or how you are generally. Hopefully your lecturers will be inspiring enough to make you try. :) G'luck for maths!

Hmmm yummy receipt, though I prefer my porridge to be oatmeal, milk and chocolate powder.

Hehe, that was my evil intention.

And it is true. When he was cooking breakfast for his wife.

I'm trying not to think about it but my mind boggles.
