Since I became a Robert Beltran fan through watching Star Trek Voyager, I also have watched many other movies with him. "Lone Wolf McQuade" was my first Chuck Norris movie, I have no idea how I could have missed this so far. I absolutely loved it, and I loved Robert's character so much that I made this figure of Kayo. It was a lot of work but I am

I'm glad you posted today too, I was going to send you a message to make sure you're safe from the floods.

And thank you for asking. I am in the far East, these are in the far West, also in Belgium and Netherlands.
We did have a similar situation in Dresden and Saxony back in 2002, where also water came unexpected overnight. It's not the slowly rising rivers where you can build sandbag dams, it's the small rivers from the mountains that come down and take everything with them. So I know what it looks like and how much destruction there is.
There are a lot more dead now than we had then though. It's all a big tragedy.

It's the same as the bushfires we had at the beginning of last year here. They just came in so quickly that most people only had time to get themselves out.

This time, there had been warnings though. For days the meterologists had given warnings that it would become bad. It is not quite clear yet how some were ignoring them.
12 people died in the ground level in a disabled home. There was one nurse which was in the building on the other side. They got a warning from a fireman in that night, and started to bring people in higher levels, and when they came back it already was flooded. It happened within minutes.
But other homes had been evacuated long before and that's what they should have done here. It is not the fault of this one poor nurse being all alone, and probably having nightmares for the rest of their live.
And now the rain has moved elsewhere, to Bavaria, and they are making the same mistakes despite the warnings. It's a nightmare.

And second, WOW, how cool to get the recognition from Beltran himself!

Yes, my motto is, when I am doing something, I'm doing it properly. I can get carried away in the details but they make all the difference.
First I had just wanted to glue the pockets to the belt, but then I got ambitious and now they can move around, which makes it less difficult to get the exact place right.
Making the figure was stretched out about many weekends. Sometimes I am too impatient and want to continue before the paint is dry.
Yes, I was over the moon with that reply! I had hoped for it but honestly not expected it.
I also have some more ideas of other characters he played ;)
Is this a movie you are familiar with? Somehow I am getting the impression that everyone knows it and I am the last to discover it. Without Robert Beltran, I'm not sure I'd ever watched it but I truly loved it. It has action, it has humor, and it has heart. And he has a nice big role from start till end with good development.
I just added this screenshot, I also have bought some wolves now to make some more pictures ;)

Nope, never heard of that movie before. But I only know of Beltran in the Star Trek context, and even that purely by osmosis.

And they say this is probably the best of all his movies so I guess it must have some cult status. So I thought you might have heard about it, from your various osmosises ;)
A guy I know via the "Gotham" action figures asked me after I already had posted tons of Star Trek pictures: "Has this guy been in 'Lone Wolf McQuade' by any chance?" I was impressed that he recognized him, all those years later. From an action figure!

I know that you are safe but it never hurts to wish my friend to stay like that.:-)

And yeah, we need to look out for each other. Also, there was some water in Saxony close to your border and it did some damage too, but nothing really bad and nobody died. How about your side?

And here in Spolí so far so good. However there are many places destroyed by elements, houses, property, fields, forests...so terrible.
An enormous wave of solidarity here too but shame on our terrible government...
