AFT Star Trek: Colorful backgrounds (plus I'm famous)

Aug 23, 2016 22:49

Today I invested in some colorful backgrounds. I was aiming for the artificial studio light in the scenes on a planet that were shot in a studio. Especially the purple one was inspired by screenshots I saw on Tumblr of the episode "That which survives". Here's an example: Read more... )

Thank you! It really made my day! They have responded again with the pool picture and the one with the huge luggage: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/224750.html

Looks like I have a fan ;)

At the moment I am waiting for the Ninth Doctor to appear, I want to do a crossover with the Doctors and the TARDIS. That will be epic. But looks as if I will have to wait till the end of October / early November for it. He was supposed to come out in July :(

I'm afraid the link to blogspot doesn't open for me.

Another one for the "I'm famous" tag!
I just wanted to write it when I saw you wrote it already :) Those colorful backgrounds work really well.

Oops, something got lost when copying from Facebook. I corrected the link, please try again!

The fun thing is that the colors were not exactly the way I wanted them and look differently in daylight, but somehow through lighting and a little photoshopping they became this beautiful color.

I also got inspired by this picture which is awesome. The guy says he has a display area with some real rocks in his garage. I want something like that!

The link works now, thanks.

The colours are very bright, like in the photo you were inspired by.

That's so cool! I think that blue-green background is amazing.

Did you take a Photoshop class to learn how to use it? I don't have the program but I've been thinking about it.

It's actually not really Photoshop I am using, I am just using the term like xeroxing ;) I use a very simple Windows programme and mostly just the automatic settings but even those are enough to make it better. If I am trying to change colors by hand, it often looks worse than before. It is a really fiddly thing. I once tried a free Photoshop version but couldn't really get into it.

Also, to be honest, I am not patient enough to fiddle endlessly with pictures. I'd never get anything posted then. I saw once how Paja changed something in the pupil of Richard Dean Anderson, zooming it really big, but when you post it on the net nobody will see it?
