Man, am I glad I started to watch Star Trek just in time for the big 50th anniversary celebrations! Imagine what I would have missed if I had come too late, as I usually do ( Read more... )

Yeah, even at the age of 84, still very sweet and charming. Some do have it, some don't ;)

I had watched him in Boston Legal some years ago, but only now when watching the original Star Trek I fell in love with the young Shatner and also watched other stuff he has done. It does feel a bit weird, since he could be my grandfather ;) But that's the beauty of TV and film - they never age there.

I also realize I need to make myself a new icon!

I never heard that he's difficult but then again I've never been to a panel with him nor a photo opp or autograph so I have noting to compare to!

Still at least you had a good time and got a great photograph and autograph which I'm sure you'll cherish!

Well, his former TOS co-stars have a lot of bad things to say about him from when working together. Some of it may even be true, but a lot surely also is exaggerated and I think time to let go after so many years!

He was the main lead after all and fought hard with producers, writers and the studio to make Star Trek the thing we know now. Who knows where we were if he hadn't done that.

And he has a very special kind of humor, not everyone may like that when he answers questions at a convention.

I'll certainly cherish it!

Edit: Looks like I need to make a new icon ;)

Again, it is awesome and I am very glad for you because WS is now only one remaining from the Big Three...
His sense of humour was infamous, I have a bokk called Making of Star Trek where a fan was allowed to share with the team during the filming of ST TOS.But yes, there were hilarious cases mostly!

Yeah :( George Takei and Walter Koenig were also there but there was no panel with all three together.

I have the book as well but I need to read it yet! I bought so many in the past weeks. Looking forward to it!

He's like a bad penny, turning up everywhere ;)
Last year in "Murdoch Mysteries" he played a great Mark Twain.

The autograph looks great to me, don't worry about it :)

The man looks very nice and not like 84 at all.

Thanks! My friend's one (without the sticky note) is also dangerously close to the neck, so maybe it's just his style ;) But yeah, I've come to the realization that I should not obsess over it. It's William Shatner after all!

The man looks very nice and not like 84 at all.

He was in VERY great shape! We were all amazed. There have been some pictures recently where he did not look so good, but here he was beaming. And he was not sitting on stage, the whole hour he was walking back and forth, always in motion. He's also one of those guys that use their arms when telling a story. Adorable ;) Definitely not like 84. I believe he can make it to 100.
