Picspam: Alloway - Brig o'Doon - Burns Cottage

Like everything most of the things I do, I got the idea for this trip because of John Barrowman. And if it is not him, then it is David Tennant, Benedict Cumberbatch or Richard Dean Anderson. You get the idea ;) I’d probably never have travelled to London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Peterborough, Ipswich or Vancouver otherwise ( Read more... )

What a beautiful place. I will only ever get to see places like this in photos, so thanks for posting them. How lucky you are to get to travel and see things first hand.

You're very welcome! I love sharing my pictures with people that don't have the time or money to do travels to the other side of the world.

I would love to so so much more, if I had the money and did not need to work every day. I'm sure there are so many lovely places all over the world. I think I'll never go to Australia for example. Just too far away and too expensive.

Yay for drawn maps! I also love them and spend much time to study everything properly. Another thing we have in common ;)

Can you see everything properly in this size or do you want me to send you the big picture so you can zoom in on the details? Just send me your e-mail address in a PM if you want to.

Oh my, lucky you, Scotland! I can´t help envying you...gods know if/when I ever get to Britain..
Lovely place, I haven´t been there (yet?) but I do know R.Burns´ poetry and his importance.:-)
Doon...is there a connection with Lorna Doon by any chance?:-)
Thank you for sharing the pics!

Oh yeah, it was such an amazing trip! But without that video that sparked it all I never would have gotten the idea.

It was a mystical place, when we were at the bridge we were the only people there. Nobody else. You could think you had travelled back in time. I'm happy to share it with you and all my other friends! We also went to Loch Lomond, I will post these as well.

I'm afraid I never heard of Lorna Doon. There's so much I don't know. It needs always someone or something to spark an interest. Like my friend who said I should watch Poldark, which I also had not known before, despite it being apparently a successful book and also it already was a TV series in the Seventies.

Yes, I really loved it! But without John I never would have gotten the idea. And without my friends who dare to drive on the wrong side of the street I wouldn't have gone there either. I saw a bus stop though, so it probably should be possible by bus. But who knows how often they are running.
