First part was here: Picspam part 1/2: Avalon 2006, Bishop's Palace, Wells - with Richard Dean Anderson & Amanda Tapping

On Sunday, the rain had stopped and we had beautiful weather. Just as well for our bus trip which started at the front of Wells Cathedral:

Lots of lovely pics! Great looking architecture!

Sounds like a fun night at the pub.

Thank you! I've fallen in love with British architecture on this first weekend and have returned many times since.

I love such evenings that are brilliant without any planning! Sometimes you have to be at the right place at the right time.

Exactly! We turned a corner and I squealed loudly in the middle of a street in Bristol. I had no idea this pub chain existed but apparently they are quite famous with Stargate fans.

Of course we had to go inside. My friend took more pictures - they all seemed to fit the theme of the weekend which was really special with the first RDA con and all. Here are some things that were written on the walls:

"Good things come to those who... wait." (you can practically hear O'Neill saying something like that!)

or: "Extra cold beer, extra warm welcome - O'Neill's"

That's Paya from Prague on the picture by the way, the one I met on that last evening.

Apart from this highlight, I really enjoyed the bridge. It seems I have developed a love for industrial architecture. But the Glastonbury Abbey was also great.

Impressive ruins... And that bridge, too. I love the shot with rocks!

Ooh, a scale model! ^^ And all the gothic, so many details!

I knew you would like the model ;) I was thinking of you when posting this picture. I remember once having seen pictures of models in your LJ, but haven't found them again since to comment on them.

We had to drive by bus to get to the bridge, and when we arrived at the stop we had the worst rain shower coming down. So we were standing in the bus stop for ten minutes or so, to wait for it to stop. That's why these pictures are so overcast. Quite moody though! It's great that we got a day of sightseeing yet out of the last day before flying home in the afternoon. BTW, the girl waving is my new found friend from Prague that I had just met the night before in the pub.

*blushes* I have three posts with models, I think. A big one with fannish dollhouses and dioramas, the Sherlock supplement to that, which you recced (thanks!), and this one. Oh, and maybe also a fourth one, with a sculpture of HMS Victory. Hmm, and maybe even a fifth, about miniature scapes carved in books?

So we were standing in the bus stop for ten minutes or so, to wait for it to stop.
Ow... Under a shelter, I hope?

You both look great there, with this color contrast. ;)
