I just LOVE the people using the "You just don't like her because you don't like strong women" argument.
If she's a role model for strong women, then I'm a fucking mongoose.
Now for rampant fangirlism. I want to strangle the idiot in that thread that said they were glad that she kicked Sawyer around, and COMPARED him to her. Bitch please, at least Sawyer is making an EFFORT to be less of a dick.
My own MOTHER accused me of "not liking her because she's a strong woman" right after I said "So who died and made Xena bitch princess here queen?"
I'm sorry, but kicking people around, pointing guns at their heads, and being completly insensitive to the other survivors is NOT being a strong woman. It's being a fucking bitch and a bully.
I have been very vocal about the fact that I DO NOT like Kate in that show. After seeing 3 episodes of Ana Lucia's bullshit, I will take Kate over her ANY DAY. Kate may be manipulative, but jesus at least she ain't a gun toting psychopath like Ana-Lucia. I don't like that character either, but at least she is a MUCH better example of a strong woman than Ana is.
lol I noticed that when Kate showed up in the episode, even though I hadn't been really fond of her before, I was like, "Yay Kate!" after so much time around Ana Lucia.
I read thaty thread, and fought back the urge to reply because it would've turned ugly. VERY UGLY. Just remember that a majority of the people in that community have shit for brains.
And the "strong woman" bullshit? I get the same thing for hating Kate. However, the Ana hate is ten fold compared to Kate. And the last episode spent the whole hour trying to get us to like her, BUT NO. It will never happen.
Umm, I see a strong woman as one who is able to handle things rationally without pulling out a gun and shooting at everything that moves. But that's just me.
And I'd like to add that I find Sun to be a very strong woman emotionally and mentally. She should be the central woman. Screw Kate and Ana. Although if I had to choose one, it'd definitely be Kate now.
I commented briefly in that thread, but refrained from getting confrontational with puppet-boy. He seems action-packed with female issues.
Aromee, I agree about Sun. She rocks, and she gets no attention because she's not popping people in the jaw. If people choose to define female strength as a loose cannon with a gun and a fair right hook, I think they're the ones who need to reevaluate their standards.
