I've actually met the woman who did all these portraits at an openning. She's really cool, and was only 26 or so when she did them. Here's her website:

OMG that's SO cool! They're gorgeous.
Okay, well what I can gather from my (bad) french, is that they were in there playing cards, and someone told her the king was coming. She looked rather worried, and then he stormed in all angry like and blood covered and started throwing everything around and everyone left. He chucked cards at her, and then threw some letter on the table, and then Fersen was mentioned so I think it was from him. She got up and was pacing around him like he was about to bite her, and then she just dropped her skirts and held her arms out towards him and then...yeah well you can see the pictures.
It was almost like a "You're MY wife, you don't belong to Fersen" sort of thing. That's what it seemed like to me anyway. I swear no one will ever drop the Fersen thing. Ever -.-
So, one day the king was out hunting, and someone delivered him some letters. He read them, then got off his horse, sat on the ground, and cried for literally hours. No one knows what was in the letters, but a lot of people suspect it was either a letter from Fersen to Antoinette, or from Antoinette to Fersen, as proof of their infidelity. Fersen was, historically, one of his closest male friends, so people theorize that if he did read one of their letters, she then convinced him that it was a fake, and that people were trying to make him hate Fersen, because of political reasons. But there's no actual basis for any of it.
But I do like the idea that he was bffs with Fersen. And possibly had a man-crush.
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW poor Louis! Whoever (Fictionally or not) did that was a huge freaking jerk! But seriously watching it it was like he was...for lack of a better way to say it marking his territory or soemthing o.0
