iBook Question

Oct 09, 2006 11:05

Would somebody please tell me how to clear space on the start-up disk of a Mac? I've tried deleting files (jpeg and others) off of my HD, but for some odd reason, it won't let me. I can't delete anything. Is there some secret password to deleting files off a Mac? And what the hell is a start-up disk, anyway? I'm totally lost.

Thanks.

The start-up disk is anything that you booted the operating system off of -- It can be your HD, a DVD, or an external HD. You're probably talking about your HD, and assuming you haven't moved anything since you got your ibook, its icon is the gray one in the upper right hand corner.

What do you mean "it's not letting you"? What kind of error message are you getting?
