I understand how you feel about it being a job vs. hobby, it's the worst. :( It’s so hard to juggle the two, not to mention how you can burn yourself out if you push it too hard and hit an art block. That’s probably the worst, you just need to keep a healthy mix of job/work art vs. recreational art and keep yourself motivated.
But seriously girl, you could totally work in the field of animation, (character) design, comics, concept art etc., whatever you have a passion and love for. If you've got the passion/drive to do it and creatively challenge yourself enough, as well as take the critique from others and use it effectively, you can do anything! I’ve cited you before as an influence to my lecturers and they were very impressed with your work, especially because you’re self taught. Don’t ever doubt yourself for a minute!
Though I don't really doubt myself as much as I find myself trashing something because I feel I can do better. I expect more of myself at the same time I don't want to push it? I dunno. I could just be trying to procrastinate some more. I do that alot.. sdljg
