DeAnna's recovery had been something of a miracle. Doctors were scratching their heads at how quickly she recovered. Even Terrence was a bit concerned, wondering at times if she was going through a transformation herself

When she saw Terrence crossing the street to her car, she got out of it and readily flung herself into his embrace. The feeling of his arms around her made her feel safe and not so paranoid. "I'm not myself but I'm all right otherwise. Sure, let's get inside. I just have the one suitcase." She motioned to the back seat of her car. Terrence was ever the gentleman and she knew he'd carry her suitcase inside for her. She followed him closely and held his free hand

“I’m not safe T. I was never safe to begin with and that monster taking a bite out of me proved it. I know you want me never harmed, but I am not the type of person to live behind closed doors or fear. I want my revenge on this Thing and in order to get it I have to be near him. So call Eion, or whoever you have to that’s going to try this monster. I want in. I want to make it sorry not for trying to feed itself, but for treating me like I was nothing but a meal in heels. I want to punish it for after you confronted it and told it I was your woman and it still thought I was nothing.” Tears pricked DeAnna’s gaze but her anger burned so hot that it evaporated them before they could fall. “I want my say. That thing changed me and I want it to know that it had no right to!”
"Look I don't wanna shut you off from the world forever, DeAnna. I'm not gonna keep you a prisoner or anything like that. I know you're a strong woman, one that can easily take care of herself. I just...I just don't want that vampire to get another hold on you, that's all." Terrence then sighed.
"I hate to say it, but I highly doubt anything we say or do will ever get that asshole to think of humans as actual beings with lives and families. There...are a lot of my kind that are that heartless and think I'm some kinda coward for not hunting down people too. But still, I'm not gonna deny you the chance to have your say. Like I said, you deserve to."
"Terrence, I know you want to take care of me, and I appreciate that. But if this Vampire is in custody, how can it hurt me again? I want to hurt it. I want it to bleed the blood I gave it, I want my life back!"
Now Terrence was a bit confused. "Okay, then I gotta ask a logistical question. If you want to hurt personally hurt him, how would you do that without getting close enough for him to hurt you?"
“You’ll be there.” She stated confidently. “Eion, other supernatural humanoids, who won’t let that thing hurt me. And if they can’t guarantee my safety, then isn’t there some kind of weapon I can use on him?” DeAnna could feel the blood lust upon her. She was enraged, she wanted to kill, hurt, maim. The veracity of her emotions weren’t normally so adamant in her nature, they were there yes, but not this amplified. She physically wanted to shake Terrence to get him to understand what she was saying. She felt nearly out of control, like a toddler wanting to throw a tantrum but she was powerless to stop the flush of emotion racing through her.
"Unless you stake him, burn him or decapitate him, he's gonna heal from whatever you do. You know, come to think of it, if you use a flame thrower you wouldn't have to be all that close. But to put a wooden stake through his heart, that's close range, as is anything being used to cut off his head," Terrence explained.
"Look, we'll be there. But Eion's not going to let you just rush in to the holding area either. In fact, you probably can't get in without him or a magic user since the holding cells do tend to be closed by magic." He cocked his head a bit, worried. "DeAnna...I mean, I get you're angry but I've never seen you this vengeful before..."
DeAnna growled and rose from the couch, anger flashing in her gaze. "I'm not a child, or some fragile piece of glass that needs protecting!" She shouted harshly at Terrence. "I'm a gown woman! I don't need my hand held. If I want to gut that thing, stake it through the heart than either you're on my side and going to help me do it, or you're just an obstacle in the way, and I've mowed through larger barriers than you, baby!"
Terrence was stunned, his expression morphing from shock to sadness. I'm just an obstacle? Me? What the hell happened to you, DeAnna? he thought to himself.
He then realized that he couldn't merely talk DeAnna out of anything. She wanted her vengeance no matter what.
"I don't know what else to say, DeAnna. But I'm being realistic," he began coolly. "We know what he's capable of. Plus you've gone through changes you're still dealing with. Don't you think he might use some of that to his advantage too? What you're asking to do is suicide."
“Suicide?” She demanded bitterly. “I’m not talking about suicide! I’m talking about revenge!” DeAnna stalked away from him and rolled her shoulders looking around the room for something to strike, to throttle, to kick. She grunted in frustration and hauled back with her left fist and let it fly, indenting and breaking through the drywall on one living room wall. Enraged she ground out a half scream and then turned to face him. “I want him to challenge me, I want him to think he can turn me or get the upper hand, and then I when I’m close enough to him I want to tear out his heart with my bare hands!” Her green eyes flashed with something gold and her pupils dilated with her anger. “Why can’t you get that? I don’t care what happens to me, I just need to get close enough to that bastard to kill him!”
She turned in a fluid movement and punched the wall once more, screaming as she did so.
Seeing DeAnna fly into such a rage stunned Terrence so that he couldn't move for a moment. The banging of her fists into the walls made him cover his ears and wince at the thundering noise. But hearing DeAnna exclaim she didn't care what happened to her and that she only wanted revenge both saddened and enraged him at the same time. He couldn't bear the thought of possibly losing DeAnna but at the same time, the fact that the monster who attacked her seemed to transform her into such a vengeful woman greatly angered him.
"He changed you all right," he uttered softly. "I don't know who you are right now."
In a blink of an eye DeAnna roared with rage and flew at Terrence completely out of control of her emotions and actions. The fury swarming through her was a mere buzzing in her ears and she wanted to silence it, silence him, and silence the world for that matter. She wanted to destroy something as if that were the only thing that would dissipate her anger. She didn’t have time to think of why she was behaving this way, let alone of any mind to stop it. She lashed out and fought seeking to inflict harm and as much damage as possible. She had taught Terrence well and he flipped her onto her back on the floor and was able to restrain her flailing limbs. DeAnna screamed in rage and tried her best to throw him off of her, but she had only human strength and Terrence was determined not to permit her to hurt herself or him

Terrence was not at all expecting DeAnna to charge at him, but when she did, he was able to knock her to the ground and hold her there until she had calmed down. His body was shaking, frightened about not knowing what to expect and hoping he didn't at all harm her. He never thought he'd have to use his superhuman strength against his own girlfriend.
As the rage subsided, Terrence could see the DeAnna he knew slowly returning. At the sight of DeAnna's tears, he whisked her into his arms, cradling her as he ran his left hand through her hair.
"I wish I knew. It could be supernatural, it could be psychological or some combination of both." He knew this wasn't what DeAnna wanted to hear, but it was the truth. "Whatever it is? I'm getting you some help before we do anything else." He pulled her closer and kissed away a falling tear from each of her cheeks.
DeAnna’s arms went around Terrence’s neck and she held fast to him. The hand in her hair made her feel calmer and her tears abated a little. “I’m scared T. I felt like I had no control. Like it was someone else yelling at you and…I’m not a killer by nature T….I want this creature’s influence out of me. Can we go see one of those magic users you were talking about? Do you think there’s someone that can figure out a way to bleed this change out of me?”
"I know DeAnna. That's why it scared me such much to see you like that." He nuzzled her and then continued, "I can take you to Eion. He might be able to do something. I dunno if he'll literally need to make you bleed or anything, but he'll do this spell thing to try to pinpoint the problem and then cast a proper healing spell. That is, if there is one. I can only hope that there is."
