Not everyone in Terrence's building knew the truth about what he truly was. In fact, only a handful of the building's tenants actually did

When Terrence moved on the bed DeAnna's senses started to stir to consciousness, but it wasn't until she heard his voice that her eyes snapped open. She didn't hear what he said, but she responded to how he said it.
The dark form at the side of the bed was humanoid, and DeAnna sat up, her body colliding with Terrence's arm. She said nothing, made no noise but a grunt at the impact and then she was gathering her legs underneath her to propel her upward out of the bed and towards the assailant. Instinctive anger shielded her from fear, prevented her from caring that all she was wearing were panties and a tank top. She was going to tear the assailants head off and she was going to do it with or without Terrence's arm across her belly.
As DeAnna sprung out of bed, Terrence's arm slipped and he fell on his side for half a second. He got to his feet as he saw DeAnna approach Bill.
"L-look," Bill stammered, dropping the stake on the floor. By now Terrence was on his feet and approaching Bill as well. Terrence glared at his neighbor, holding back the superhuman glowing eyes as best as he could.
"Look, what?" Terrence demanded. "Why the hell are you trying to kill me? What did I ever do to make you think-"
"N-nothing...that I knew of but I-" Bill didn't finish and turned and started to run, even though there wasn't much light to see where he was going.
DeAnna saw and heard the weapon fall to the floor and she scooped it up, feeling what it was more than she visually confirmed it. She held it like a knife pointed at Bill. Terrence questioned him and the guy ran. Seriously? He was going to try to out run her super fast boyfriend in his own damned room?
DeAnna grabbed the clock off of the bedside table and threw it, the device contacting with Bill's skull.
"Fucking Asshole!" She shrieked at him gripping the stake. She hadn't thrown that because the frightened neighbor could change his mind and use it against Terrence. "Get him T!"
Bill fell to the ground on contact, holding his head in pain. He was still conscious, attempting to get to his feet.
Terrence flipped the switch on the wall, turning on one of the living room lamps. Bill turned, able to clearly see Terrence now and started trembling. At this point, Terrence's eyes flickered, glowing with a golden light. He walked towards Bill, glaring at him. The neighbor stumbled to his feet and attempted to head towards the door when Terrence zoomed over to him and grabbed him by the throat with one hand.
Terrence lifted him a few inches off the ground and walked a few steps towards the couch before throwing Bill onto it.
"You're not going anywhere. We're gonna have a little chat," Terrence growled.
