Oh Emmi bb! *huggles her* *and huggles Stuart for being an awesome big brother* I'm very curious about who the tall lady is. My first thought was Marielle but then I don't think she'd have the money to be on the bus...
:D Stuart is awesome, I love him loads. Emmi too natch.
Ding, ding, ding. Yes the tall lady is Marielle. Since he found out where she is, Eddie's been giving her an allowance. It's not much, and she supplements it through selling her excess vegetables from her garden, as well as doing some seamstress work (you can see how much she's changed right there), but it is enough for her to be able to pay for the omnibus if she wants to travel to Simford.
I don't think I would have ever guessed it was Marielle, but it makes sense in retrospect.
I honestly find Marielle to be one of your most fascinating characters. She was never really the ultimate villain that I think some people wanted her to be. She was too .. human. None of that forgives the things she did, but it's interesting to watch her grow up. She's a very layered personality.
Thank you. I really wanted to make Marielle a complex character, and have everyone have differing opinions of her. I'm glad you think I succeeded. And yes, human is a very good way to describe her I think.
Thank you. I love writing the family and how everyone interacts. :D And yes, Marielle has come a long way and changed a lot in some ways. Her meeting with Eddie, Carmen and Di was a pivotal moment for her, more so than her time in the asylum even.
Aw. Poor Emi, and poor Stuart, being accused of lying by a perfect stranger (of course, I understand how Madame Pokey would have been perfectly scandelized by how they spoke to her).
But I think the most interesting part is that Marielle has, for possibly the first time ever, shown a hint of maternal instinct by defending her child. She has come a long way, and I approve.
Yeah the woman was out of order, but also yes, although Stuart is nearly eighteen in this drabble, he really shouldn't have spoken to an adult like that. But then again, she shouldn't have poked Emmi with her stick. XD
This is the first time she's seen him since she was thrown out of the house, but she's been through a lot since then, and had a bit of a revelation when Carmen, Eddie and Di went to see her. She's changed.
:D I was hoping people would get it. I think part of it is because she too has been on the receiving end of such accusations as Stuart and Emmi were. It's one reason she spoke up. :)

Yes, Marielle has grown up a lot since she was living in the main house.
