What's this? Two sizable drabbles from me in two days? What's going on?
I have no idea, but I'm pleased to be writing again.
Anyway, I was inspired by two prompts today, and this also takes place two years before we meet the characters in it. Enjoy!

Gosh, it must have been frustrating to be an intelligent (or possibly any) woman in those days *feels angry feminism building* Stupid Aunt Matilda, even if she would have been very 'of her time'.
Also: now I'm curious as to what you plan to do with Lauren, assuming she's not going to stay young for all of forever while her twin ages...

I think it was frustrating, and that's why they eventually said "enough is enough." One of the most interesting statements I've read is regarding educating women. Women were educated to a degree, and possibly more than we think, but only so that they could listen and understand what a male companion was saying in conversation. They were expected to agree with him and not form their own opinions on the matter.
I really want to keep Lauren around, and play her, but I still need to figure out who she's going to marry.

I would not have the patience to just smile and nod if I disagreed. Just like Sophia - if he's going to be annoyed if I do so, then I'm definitely not marrying him.
Good luck with that - I'm sure you'll think of the best way of working that :)

She's going to be so good for Bertie. I can't wait.

lol Simtalian heritage, is that why the twins are named Sophia and Lauren? :D
Matilda might not be happy with how her niece behaves, she might not even completely agree with who she finally chooses for her husband (what with the tint of scandal that seems to dog the Legacy's), but in the end Sophia's stubborness and strength of character (she has both in spades I believe) will see her very happy in the end.
Good job!

As I said last night, their names were a complete co-incidence. Lauren's name was generated by the game and I picked Sophia because I liked it, and she couldn't stay as Noelle.
Haha, I don't think she's going to be at all pleased with Sophia marrying Bertie. Not only is there that faint whiff of scandal still, but also he's slightly lower than them on the social scale (marrying below herself, for shame! It was practically unheard of), and to top it all off, once Eddie hands over the deeds to him, he'll be a shopkeeper. ;)

Oh no, them be fighting words! At that moment I wanted Sophia to throw it right back in her face...
"So, you have no mind of your own then, Aunty?"
Hehe, I'm mean though. ;)
I very much enjoy your "drabble". I can't wait to see Sophia in action once she's married to Bertie. ;p

What I really love about that quote, and I've tried to bring this into the drabble, is that the Dowager Countess of Grantham, although stuck firmly in the Victorian era, so obviously forms her own opinions and takes no prisoners with them. And yet she gives this very traditional rhetoric without seeming to realise how she goes against it herself. Matilda is very similar.
Thank you. It's going to be fun once they're married. :D
