Title: Learning to Ride
Prompt: Saddling a Horse sim_spiration.
Rating: U
Summary:  Ezra starts to teach Bethany how to ride
Notes:  I'm not particularly happy with this: it feels a bit stilted and forced and repetitive, but I want to start getting back into the habit of writing (rebuild is nearly done, yay), so I'm going to put this here anyway.  Also, I've never ( Read more... )

This was fun to read. "'Besides,' she said as she settled into the saddle and arranged her skirts around her legs, 'if I do not learn to ride, you might run into some fine equestrian one day while out riding, and run off with her.'" Yeah, right, Bethany, when pigs fly.

Thanks. :D

Yeah that's got as much chance of happening as a snowball has in Hell, but she was nervous and when she's under strain she worries that it's all a dream and she'll wake up to find Ezra doesn't exist.

But I'm with Bethy's nervousness - animals bigger than me that could stomp me to death? Yeah, not keen about those >.> But of course she has her perfectly destined Ezra to help her through ^.^

Me too. I like looking at horses from a distance but I'm very nervous of them close, up, hence why I've never ridden.

Indeed, indeed.

I can assure you Di that unless you get near a Thoroughbred or a particularly nasty horse, you don't have anything to worry about.
...I don't trust those Thoroughbreds, I've heard they can be very temperamental...

Oh I probably would be. It's just the size that's off putting I think.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. *cough*

I really loved this, and it's so sweeeeeet that Bethy wants to try something that Ezra loves so they can spend more time together. (It reminds me when I was getting into gaming for Jeremy only a lot less geeky hahaha). I love them together so muuuuuuuuch!

Also I kind of want to write a companion piece about Ezra and Edward now. XD

*grins* You enjoyed it then? I'm glad you did.

It really struck me as the sort of thing she would do, much in the same way, he sits there while she writes. They're just wonderful together and I'm thiiiis close to being able to play them as a married couple properly.

Do eeeeeeet, doooo eeeeeeet, you know you want to!

Awww, sweet! I'm with Bethany on horses being slightly scary in the "that animal is bigger than me and could throw me off its back" way, but it's good of her to try and learn to do something Ezra likes so much!

Thank you, and yes, I'm exactly the same. Horses make me nervous because they're so much bigger than me. That and the teeth.

She'd do anything for Ezra, and actually it'll benefit her now that she lives on the outskirts of Regalton and horse drawn cabs aren't passing her front door every minute of every day. It'll be much easier for her to have a horse saddled than the carriage hooked up.

This was a really good read, Di.

I've ridden horses heaps of times before (though never side-saddle); for someone whose never ridden you did quite well with the descriptions.

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Oh that's good! Like I say, I've never ridden so I have no idea about it. I was just trying to write something that made sense. ;D
