Iruka grinned from ear to ear. "Yeah, I was dropping off your buying price." He joked about the whole two cartons of cigarettes he'd traded for Kakashi's week's worth of company.
"I also agreed to look after Evey for a bit, so I brought her over to play with Pakkun." He offered his movies to Kakashi and chuckled a little at his companion's vintage t-shirt. Iruka was happy they had at least one thing in common. He held that woman's angelic voice in a softer place of his heart.

Flashbacks of the scene they'd had on Kakashi's birthday played in the back of Iruka's mind. He would get to that eventually. No rush. There was a whole week to talk about that. No need to spoil things right away.

"Hey there, Pakkun!" He chirped to the mildly excited looking pug making circles around Kakashi's feet.

No Tv. That was a real set back that he hadn't expected. Now he was praying he'd picked up around his apartment enough to make it presentable. Though Iruka's idea of 'presentable' was immaculate and thorough like no one lived in the place at all.
He stepped into the cool AC and heaved a sigh of relief. Evey hopped around the couch with her new bestest friend.
"No, he was at the pantry." He fished a metal key out of his pocket and flashed it at Kakashi. "He left a spare key."

He roamed about the living room scouting out Kakashi's belongings. An obvious music lover judging by the huge stereo system and vast collection of cd's. "So what kind of errands did you have to run?" He stayed standing in case they needed to leave soon. Sure, he was dreading going back out into the summer heat, but a man had to do- well you know the rest.

Iruka walked around the opposite side of his friend's very expensive looking ride, still flustered about his inablilty to cook, and Kakashi's blatent disregard for personal space.

Holding his breath as he entered the stiffling heat of the car, Iruka gathered his willpower and buckled his saftey belt. He wondered if Kakashi was as avid about his seat belt as he was. He closed his passenger side door and heaved a sigh.

"God, it's hoooot!" He blurted out. As soon as he said it, he knew Kakashi would have something to say about his ridiculous choice in clothes.

Iruka acknowledged Kakashi with a solemn 'Nn.' He wasn't prepared to share his shame yet but as they rode further down the road, he decided it was just silly to hide what his friend already knew was there. Besides, it didn't look like Kakashi was going to press the matter. Struggling lightly against the seat belt, Iruka slipped out of his pale green hoody.

"That's better" He sighed.

Although he was still timid to show off his wounds, the rest of the trip to the store was at least more pleasant. His cotton "Felix the Cat" t-shirt was form fitting and let his skin breathe. His wrists had fresher looking cuts on them, but surely Kakashi wouldn't notice. It was dark that night anyhow.

Iruka turned his attention back to Kakashi. "Sorry about the pie." He went on to explain that he wasn't so good with baked things, but excelled in following he directions on the back of a box. He laughed heartily at that.
