One of the best protest moves I ever saw was pro same-sex marriage folks singing American anthems after the Massachusetts reps voted in their favor. The anti folks were rushing around all upset because "we" were singing "their" songs. Poor widdle bigots...

1: Adopt America the Beautiful as our national anthem - not only is Star-Spangled Banner had to sing, but the message is "Did the flag get shot down yet?" which is not exactly a pledge to the country. My Country 'Tis of Thee would also work, I just like America the Beautiful's message about the land itself, and also the end of the second verse, "America, America, God mend thine every flaw / Confirm thy soul in self-control, thy liberty in law."
2: Add Phil Ochs' The Power and the Glory to the canon of patriotic songs we teach our children.
For she's only as rich as the poorest of the poor
