Holy crap that is really shittastic. gotta hand it to them, they are like a very successfull pyramid scheme. Talk about banking on "buyers remorse"

"You'll be sorry if you leave! Because we are so nice, unless your not mormon, are gay, a polyamouros person, or not christian."

Literally something I heard from a mormon door to doorer.

Fortunately, even if they do notify my family, it won't be much of an issue. Both my parents have left, and 3 of my siblings have also left. Only one of my sisters is still in the religion, and this should really come as no surprise to her.

I'm probably the only person who's gone to the trouble of resigning/name removal, though.

Take out an ad in a national paper saying how you are proud to be a bi and poly Mormon. I think they would hastily and eagerly unlist you.

I sped up the process by sending the letter to the editor which I was prepared to have published if I didn't receive written confirmation within 30 days that my name had been removed from the records. I also stated that I would consider any further contact, aside from that written confirmation, harassment and would deal with it as such.

(I was not feeling patient, or kind, or anything but completely fed up.)
