open minded gynecology surgeon? (not for me)

sevenday posted here in cf_resources looking for someone in Tacoma or surrounding areas who would do a hysterectomy on a 27-year-old. Reasons include sterilization, menstrual symptom relief and identifying as male.
Anyone got any leads?

oops. I /meant/ sevenday, not sevendust. fixed now.

i'd suggest starting with tacoma general hospital. they offer the da vinci procedure (which is the latest and greatest in hysterectomy tech) and one of their historical heads of radiology was a transman, so it's not like they're likely to find the idea all that radical.

Sad to say, he's unlikely to find a reputable one who'll do it outside the gender reassignment standard of care. Removing clinically healthy organs is a huge medical ethics violation. The only exceptions I've heard of are preventative mastectomies for those with the breast cancer gene and the appendix/tonsil/wisdom teeth combo required for Antarctic researchers and astronauts.

I don't have any tips, but had a tubal at the same age from a male physician in Arizona with a degree from Southern Baptist University with six kids. I'd advise not to profile the candidates to ask. Best of luck to him.
