The total concept is too good to pass except for the future outlook of which is horrendous. Realistic yet borders on doom in the end.

It's true, it's awful at the end. But that's how I felt after reading the book. It was, if you'll excuse the play on words, eviscerating.

I had really mixed feelings about the book when I read it in high school, but I would play the hell out of this as a video game.

It's a very important novel but I dunno if it should be part of a HS curriculum, even AP. It's just so fricken _bleak_.
Did you find the book influenced your way of thinking at all?
