"Oooh! Precious angel Karolina! What is that?" Frank asked.
"Dessert. Dig in," Karolina said, setting a piece of cheesecake in front of her father.
He took a bite of the creamy stuff. It was something he’d never tasted before. Sugar raced to his brain. He groaned. "Sunbeam, that is so good!"
She grinned. "I’m glad you like it."
"What is it?"
"Peppermint cheesecake."
Frank froze. Leslie giggled.
"P-peppermint?" he stammered. "Peppermint? As in… Peppermint?"
She nodded. "Is that bad?"
I hate peppermint! "No, no." His voice raised a few octaves. Karolina grinned massively.
"It’s not peppermint. It’s apple. Gotcha."
Frank growled to himself and plunked his head on the table.
