"Roll, Gene."
Alice smirked and proceeded to invade the Ukraine. Gene grimaced and knew he was going to lose.
"Hey. I have an idea," he said. "Let’s go out to eat instead."
Alice nodded. "That’s a good idea. Loser buys dinner."
"Uh, babe, that’s not what I-"
"Roll!"
Gene rolled and lost the Ukraine. Alice cheered. The entire planet was red.
"Where do you want to go?" he asked, defeated.
"Chez Channoix!"
Gene’s head hit the table. "You hate my wallet."
"You’re a doctor!"
"Go get ready. I’ll meet you in the car."
She jumped up and ran off down the hall. He watched her go and hoped he didn’t bounce too hard. Maybe one day he’d learn to stop playing board games with her so he could afford to propose.
Also, I just picked a name I saw on the Internet one day for the restaurant. It wasn't a restaurant. I just saw it. Forgive me.
