04: Running
Tina had taken up running with Catharine and Leslie. They were usually gone for half an hour. Robert was getting worried. Today they’d been gone for three.
He was almost ready to call the cops when his wife came through the door, out of breath and tired. She grinned at him.
"Where have you been?" he demanded, rushing over to her. He pulled her into the house and tried to make sure she was all there.
"We stopped at a couple of places, Daddy," she snarked. "Geez. You act like I’ve never been out of the house."
He glared at her.
"I was worried!"
"Then stop yelling at me!"
He took a deep breath and let it out very, very slowly. "I’m sorry."
She ruffled his hair playfully. "Shut up."
"I was getting ready to call the cops," he admitted.
She held still while he kissed her.
"I need to go shower," she said.
"Oh." Then. "Want company?"
She giggled and ran to the master bathroom.
