"Spade?" Xavin demanded, bewildered.
"Yes, spade. It’s a Queen of Spades," Billy sighed. Teaching Xavin to play cards was probably one of his more idiotic ideas.
The Skrull gaped for a moment, then turned to Karolina.
"My, love, is not ‘spade’ the term used for a female who has had her reproductive organs removed?" she asked, blatantly worried.
"What? NO. That’s ‘spayed,’ with a ‘y.’ This one’s a suit of cards. If you play a spade you’re not going to get fixed," Karolina explained.
Teddy had taken two steps into the kitchen. He turned quickly and walked right back out.
"Teddy?"
"I do not want to know."
