056: Cheap
Geoffrey hated when “Where do you want to eat?” ended with “In-N-Out Burger.”
It never boded well. It usually ended in disaster. He felt cheap when he took her there, and no amount of penance made him feel any better.
Not to mention the fights.
She didn’t mind going to In-N-Out Burger. She actually liked it. It was Geoffrey who was the source of his own discomfort. She frowned and munched on a French fry. Geoffrey stared into space and neglected his food.
“Geoff, eat,” she said.
He shook his head. “I will.”
Catherine kicked him under the table. “Eat.”
He took a bite out of his burger, just to satisfy her, and set the rest down. Then he went back to scrutinizing the universe. It wouldn’t do her any good to argue, and she really wasn’t in the mood for a fight. She sighed and let it go.
