020: Bad Day
Catharine was tired and sore. She was glad she was home, where considerably less could go wrong.
She thought.
There was a hairball on the rug and trash all over the kitchen floor. Catharine sighed. She wanted to get out of her work clothes before she had to tackle that mess.
Geoffrey tapped on the open door behind her. She glanced over her shoulder, perfectly happy to put whoever it was to work.
“Hey.”
“Hey.”
He kissed the side of her head. “Go get comfortable,” he said. “I’ll take care of the mess.”
She turned and hugged him, endlessly grateful, then went to change. Geoffrey grimaced at the hairball and reached for the paper towels.
