I feel like I've discovered an essential piece of my life that I didn't even know was missing. The other night, my roommate introduced me to something wonderful I had to share it with you all. It is a little something called "Drunk History". It's where histoy experts get really drunk and then discuss a historical event, while actors act it out ( Read more... )

ahahaha, song recs, brit tv is so fandom friendly, meme, randomness, friends are fun, community: i need a community tag, merlin: idk my bff arthur?, complete awesome, cracktastic, being human: so who wants tea?, it's my favorite!, doctor who: madman with a box, true blood: southern-crackified twilight, sytycdance!

LOL DRUNK HISTORY. AMAZING.

I agree with you so hard re: Morgana. I love Merlin and Gaius, but last series they really, really tried my patience with their whole "let's hide things from Morgana for her own good" bullshit. I want Merlin and Morgana to be magical bffs sooooo badly, geez.

Troy wasn't my favourite character in the beginning, but he rapidly became one of my favourites for his lines alone. "First time I got punched in the face, I was like oh no, then I was like this is a story." Donald Glover's delivery is so, so awesome.

Tara's one of my least favourite TB characters, but she is sneaking her way back into my affections this season with her bad-assery. Her line to Sookie about Sookie being like those sad bitches in country songs was A++, as was her kicking Bill's ass out of the van.

ISN'T IT JUST??

Seriously. You'd think Merlin would learn from his own experience, but noooo. ARGH SO FRUSTRATING! And Troy was no where NEAR my favorite at the beginning, but he totally grew on me and I think Donald's performance is a huge part of it - he just makes him so likeable and hilarious that I can't help but love everything that comes out of his mouth. And I really think it kind of begun with his OTP BFFness with Abed - it kind of upped his game I think.

And Tara fell waaaay down my list of favorite TB characters last season, but after the first couple of eps this season she's really the only one I can get behind 100% of the time and I think she's been on FIRE, so I'm totally loving her right now.

Oh my goodness. How have I never encountered Drunk History before? Thank you for enlightening me! :D

I agree with your list of awesome Doctor Who characters. But Eleven is just, like, in a league of his own. Seriously. The man is brilliant. And omg Annie. Annie Annie Annie. Agreed so hard with everything you said. I love all of them but Annie is the one whose story I love most consistently. And I sobbed at the S2 finale.

I haven't watched Merlin. I kind of want to, but at the same time I kind of don't. I hear about a lot of gender!fail and honestly, the last thing I need is another show to watch. But Morgana sounds so awesome... And also I've heard about some intriguing Arthur/Morgana UST, only to disappear after S1...

I'm curious about Community though. And I've fallen way behind on True Blood.

Oh, not related to this post really, but I saw a commercial on ABC Family for a Friday Night Lights marathon. :D

I only just discovered Drunk History myself, thanks to my roommate and my friend/her bf. BEST FRIENDS EVER!

YOU MUST WATCH COMMUNITY. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

No, but seriously, it will.

merlin is fun mainly because it's cracky goodtimes and the cast is UBER ADORABLE and made of amazingness. And aside from Morgana OWNING EVERYTHING ELSE, the Merlin/Arthur friendship is awesome (also b/c Colin/Bradley is EPIC WIN). All in all the show is pretty damn enjoyable, despite some things that are more fail than others. I've never really taken issue with anything on the show regarding gender, OR the Arthur/Morgana UST (yeah, there was a little in the VERY early eps, but it pretty obviously began to give way to Arthur/Gwen about halfway through S1).

It's a show I don't really put too much thought into, other than "I WANT TO BE MORGANA", or "OH MERLIN/ARTHUR, BEING ADORABLE AND HILARIOUS AGAIN", or "OH HAI LANCELOT". Why ruin it by taking it more seriously than it actually is??

I'm actually enjoying true blood more than last season, ( ... )
