Lola arrived about half a month late right on time, holding an empty water bottle in one hand and eagerly emptying a second one.

"Hey!" she said when she was done, as she arrived in front of the café. "You ready?"

"Hello, Lola! Yeah, I'm ready. Just let me finish stretching a bit... ahh, there, done."

Daisy stood up straight and grinned. "So, when we get into position, do we count to three, or just use the traditional 'ready-set-go?'"

"Well I was thinking of just taking off, but we can do ready-set-go instead." she replied. "So, you ready?"

Daisy winked. "I was born ready!"

She took her starting position, leg stretched out behind her, the other leg bent forward, her fingertips touching the sidewalk. She looked straight ahead with a serious expression, focused.

"Ready..."
