I think it's awesome! there's nothing saying you have to go to all of 'em, and many folks cannot afford to travel, so more local cons = more access to the fandom. besides, FC has grown by leaps and bounds in the time I've been going (6 years! can it be?) and even outgrown the dear old doubletree. so I think that as more folks find their way to the furry subculture it makes sense more cons would spring up.

I say, YAY!

If there's enough furries in the world to keep them afloat, I think that's great. As with other genres...just like we have a couple mega-cons (e.g. WonderCon), there's still a time and a place for smaller, more personal events like BayCon or SiliCon.

BayCon and Silicon are *NOTHING* compared to what they were 10-15 years ago..they were VERY large... Now they are pretty sad in comparison.

I think that people just don't have the money for big plane trips and awesome hotel weekends anymore. Little regional gatherings are the natural way of things. And if they're run well, they can get bigger.

I approve of competition to get my dollar. It means there's a choice.

My thought exactly. It's becoming cost prohibitive to travel long distances to smaller and or mid-tier cons.

I thought Furnal Equinox was a trainwreck of fail?

We have too many, yes, but these are mostly not in the US... Those furs will probably appreciate this stuff. :P

There's no such thing as "too many cons". There is however "GOING to too many cons"

for those in low furry population areas, it can be a godsend.

Going to too many cons tho can dilute the experience. It's like goin to Disneyland every day. At some point you will grow tired of it.
