The baby bit just seems so exactly like what college art students would do. At the risk of sounding repetitive - love it. And Destiny - ha! Condemnation to a life of stripperdom avoided! The end makes me awww. Cute and sad - poor Stuart.
This chapter had me super nervous. It's such a delicate subject. I also spent an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out when RISD introduced email for all students (many colleges introduced it around 1991-92, so I'm sure they would have email. But, I figure that if many people my age got their first email address in college (in 2000), so it might not have been the way you'd think to contact someone off the top of your head. I also debated having her say that she just didn't notice she missed her period until it was too late to consider abortion, and circled around the idea that she was in full-on denial. My beta also suggested that perhaps she have a sister who was helping her get things together and arranging the adoption, and telling Stuart was more of an "FYI and please sign this paper" than the whole "I dunno" direction I went. (Which would probably have also been an interesting direction, and probably hit on a lot of the same feelings of self-centered relief; but also would have involved a great deal of re-writing
