Where were these chemicals from? What kind were they? You couldn't tell if sodium dichromate was a salt or a liquid or any of the other manner of chemical. And the classifications available in the books he'd found? Utterly useless.

It meant that he had to do a lot of reading up on what things were used for to try and figure out the proper chemicals by connotation as well experimentation. And that was fine, really.

It wasn't like he had anything else to do.
