I don't think it would be so bad if it weren't such a 'popular' song in the vidding world. Then again I usually don't use popular songs when I vid!

I know! But that's my point, one vid like that I can understand. Two is still ok... but there are dozens of them out there! And not one of them has the full song, just that ending bit. And that annoys me.

Definitely frustrating!

Any new Doctor Who vids to look forward to from you? :D

I confess I don't know the "I'm only human" song you're talking about--I don't watch fanvids *nearly* enough anymore--but "Shattered" never seemed like a song to me that you can effectively half-use. Do you hate these videos because they butcher the song, or do you hate them because they're seemingly incomplete videos? I personally can't stand cutting songs... it feels mean to the original artist. I still have to do it, but it's usually because of lack of clips, not laziness.

Oh, just search "I'm only human" on YouTube, there are plenty of vids with it (and even more of those with just the second half of "Shattered").

I'd understand if there were just a few of those vids around, but I honestly don't think I've seen a single vid that used the full song!
And some vids don't even edit the song in an "organic" way, per se, no fades, no nothing, they just start from the middle.

Do you hate these videos because they butcher the song, or do you hate them because they're seemingly incomplete videos?

A bit of both, actually, but mostly because they seem incomplete.
And it's not only with those two songs, I've seen vidders that do nothing but vid half-songs, it's like a rising trend on YouTube these days.
