The Movie got so much hype that I'm even more critical of it.
I never read the book/poem, but those old stories I generally like for their charm... part of my exposure to the English "pomp and circumstance", I guess... boring things are actually interesting to me. Although, cricket carries it too far.
Oh, I totally feel ya, doesn't even matter. In all fairness though, I could never get into prose in the form of poetry. I didn't like The Odyssey or Dante's Inferno either, probably just because of the style they were presented in. I'm guessing I wouldn't have been a fan of bards in the old days.
I've yet to read any of the pose-poems, but I also dislike that style.
Although I write in short fragments, That's because I'm not reall telling a story.
I'm more... transmitting emotion, so I want to be brief. For stories, though, I like paragraphs, chapters, complete sentences, and even some redundancy. Stories should be like a full meal, poems like a snack (hopefully, milk chocolate).
