I'm not sure I'm totally following what's going on in the fandom, but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay Spuffy fans to traumatize me.

Apparently, Joss so traumatized the Spuffy fans by writing a story in which Spike had flaws, and writing a story about the Spuffy relationship being problematic - that he destroyed their sexuality and turned otherwise wholesome Spuffy shippers into slashfen.

It's actually quite a bit like, in writing about how Willow went from being Jewish to a wiccan, and Jonathan Levinson a villain, and Lorne a killer - that Joss traumatized my religiousity and turned me away from Judaism to the Nation of Islam.

Are you mocking my Persian heritage?

I totally am. Don't you know Iran is next on the hitlist if we can ever finish up with that pesky insurgency.

I don't have a riposte; I do, however, have an icon.

There are two kerfuffles now extant. To tell the truth, I've looked at their intersection with my friends list, and I've looked at their intersection with my blogstroll, but I haven't looked at them per se, and other than to provide a foundation for offhand quips, I have not that much interest to.

It might be fun, though; check Fandom Wank.

What bemuses me is the claim that traumatised Spuffy fans turned to Spander, as it seems to me that the crazed Spuffy fans also believe that Xander is a heartless demonophobic bastard whose epitaph on Anya was actual literal contempt (as opposed to the sort of numb, rueful remark that he'd have said about himself if he'd died at the time).

Imagine the trauma if those people ever get cable.

Well, that's why I don't haunt the meta-fandom sites and stick close to my friends!
