Ooh, also, have you read Sharon Bowers' Phases of Fire? It's one of the best fanfictions of any kind I've read, ever and Vampirism aside, there are some interesting parallels between that and this.
Yes, I've read Phases of Fire, many years ago. I am more than flattered to have my story be compared to anything written Sharon Bowers. My initial reaction was to think no, no parallels. But after thinking about it, I suppose Jess, like Clarice Starling, do have some similar issues.

I am glad they were able to talk about the phone call from the reaper and how each felt, coming to a reasonable agreement. There was the potential for an arguement, but instead of letting personal feeling getting the way, they're able to share them and still act professionally.
PS: I like your new journal theme and icon. Hopefully the supreme court will do the right thing. :) Thank you. One can only hope that marriage equality will become the law of the land. *G*
