Lol, and here I thought it was something to do with the artifact that Sam was studying, a duplicate Sam or something wooing Janet, but nope, it was just Daniel. Great twist on the ending. And yay, Sam gets the girl! Poor old Daniel, well... not really *snicker*

Yeah, it was just Daniel. He's been to Janet's house enough to know about the books and to have accidently discovered the chocolate stash. I pictured him helping out at one of the team parties, getting the ice bucket down for Janet to chill a bottle of wine or something. *lol*

Ha! That was a twist in the end. I thought it was Sam and then it was Daniel! But it was so convenient that Sam showed up every time Janet got a present.

I can imagine Daniel will be heartbroken when he finds out about Sam and Janet.

Wow that's great! I wish someone would do the work and spend the money secret-admiring for me and then I get all the credit and the girl: not too shabby :P

Too bad there's no way to orchestrate that without it likely completely backfiring. Hmmm, now I have to find somebody to secretly admire...why is this so hard right now?

Yeah, sometimes simple plans are better I suppose. Still, this story was great because it had me thinking the whole time that Sam was just being a 'very' good actress. And then circumstances just worked out in their favor. It was great how Janet ended up being the one to open the door for their mutual feelings for each other.
Thanks for the responses and for the awesome insight into the immortality possibilities for Dana: that is an epic discovery and by far the coolest of the X-Files characters to get to achieve such a thing.
