That's a nice thought but not my understanding of how the resurrection stone works. I thought the point to the story of that Peverell brother was that you can never bring someone all the way back from the dead, only a shadow of their spirit.

The lack of both a body and a portrait give me hope for some cunning plan of Snape's, however he managed it.

My opinion is that if you used the resurrection stone on someone who was already a ghost, you wouldn't have that problem due to previous explanations of what ghosts are in the Potterverse.

Yes, but as far as the story goes, Severus wasn't ever even a ghost... he could have been brought back.

Perhaps it was Hooch who was conspicuous by her absence.

She fell in love with Snapey in the first year and never got - Oh sorry JKR used that three times already. ;D

We certainly don't know what effect the stone would have on someone who is MOSTLY dead (as someone pointed out the other day) He has a body to go back to - Unlike the others brought back - asside from Remus and it could be argued he's a werewolf and his body is tainted.

I also get the feeling that Remus would not go back for love or money. Not even for his cute little rainbow pup who he's already insisted would be better off without him. Now Remus is with the men he truly loved instead of the wife he never seemed to have all that much interest in.

Severus, however, has nookie to be found.

...or he is in Australia hanging with a aboriginal tribe or he is seen in Mexico City during the day of the dead festival, or he was seen in India walking the streets as a beggar, or he might just be in New Orleans working with the descendants of Marie Laveau on their greegree magic. Not sure on the spelling of that. :D

Any where but dead is what I hope for.

Yeah, the Resurrection Stone is totally just lying about in the forest. I like the idea of someone using it to bring him bak to life.
