....O.O Kanda? dead? I didn't get that impression. A few panels before the end, he had one leg cut off (I think. did i see that well or do i have to go reread the chapter?), and by the time Allen sent him through the gate he had both legs again. It seemed to me that Kanda was clearly recovering and woul eventually be well again - now, as for Alma, that's a different story... i'm pretty sure Alma was dead or dying. but not 100% sure, so yeah.
And I also am a supporter of the theory that Kanda will come back eventually - after mourning Alma (if indeed he died) and putting himself back together, considering that Kanda must hate the Church as much as the Noah, I'm pretty sure he'll come back to join the fight once more. =)
^ I agree with what you said! I don't have the impression that Kanda was dead or dying; I think he was regenerating from the injuries. On the other hand, Alma's regeneration was established to have reached its limits a chapter or two ago -- and it seemed like he died in those last panels (the silence that startled Kanda, and the "Goodbye, Alma").
I think Kanda is alive and will eventually be back, and maybe in a better place emotionally and good stuff like that.
if kanda is dying, i hope he survives D: since he's one of the main charas, i think. haha it wont be the same if our dear samurai die, because no one will be there to fight and get angry at the beansprout and usagi :(
not completely sure, but didn't Alma say that if Kanda finds out that he is the person/(has the persons brain <.<'), that Kanda is looking for, that he will stop looking :/? Kanda said that he can't die before he finds that person, so uhhh maybe Alma saw it as a way for Kanda to keep on living and so on...
second question: I wonder myself <.<', on the one side I think that Kanda doesn't quite know why he has the urge to find that person (you know as in "his" brain wants to find her), but I'm probably wrong about that xD' So I keep wondering if they really are their own persons (Alma and Kanda) or if they actually are the dead exorcists :/
I agree waay to many questions xD but they hopefully will be answered... I would love to know what happened to Cross as well <-<, Iam sure he is alive...
Kanda didn't die. He was put on a bus, probably, but he didn't die.
We're made to think he died for a moment when he crumbles after the explosion and Allen cries over his body, but we see that he actually was listening to Alma and Allen's conversation. As Kanda is regenerating, Allen uses his belt to wrap up the Earl and use the momentum to get in the air -- this is because he opens a gate to Martel, the first mission with Lala and Gozul that Allen and Kanda had together. Allen sends Kanda and Alma through the gate and destroys it so that no one can follow them (Kanda also leaves Mugen behind with Allen). We know Kanda was alive, but he starts to cry because he notices that Alma has turned to stone.
The only thing that's ambiguous is whether or not Alma will live. Kanda was pretty beat to hell, but he'll probably be fine. XD
I used the phrase "Put on an Ark" the other day, haha.
Also agreeing with the "he's not dead" bit re:everyone. If nothing else, he's the second most popular character. He'll be back. Hoshino's just giving him a vacation.
Yup. He'll be back whenever it's next convenient for the story (another 80 chapters?). Alma is unknown, but it's 50/50. I can see Alma living as easily as I can see Alma dying. I'm putting my bet on living for now.
I don't think Hoshino killed off Kanda, but we might not see him again for the rest of the series, or at the very least, a long time. Kanda did say that he and Alma would run away to a place where "there is no Innocence, no Church".
Since Kanda is so popular, the latter option seems more likely, but I would be very impressed if Hoshino's brave enough not bring him back.
Nope, he and Alma ran away to Mateel. Kanda asked Allen if he remembered where their first mission was, Allen replied with a yes and Kanda said "No one can find us there". I'm pretty sure "us" meant he and Alma :/
*snort* lol, I thought that he was trying to tell Allen to elope with him...hahahha, confused the shit out of me...@_@ =S wish my initial thoughts were correct...=.=....

I hope he comes back manly and badass again, with a new reason to keep on fighting.

Does that make more sense?

I'm also in the "live" boat, just because I'm an idiot who's keeping her fangirly hopes up, haha.
